If it's still a no go, maybe you do need to just send it in for repairs. I would check ctrl + alt + del and msconfig for this you might even want to try resetting your BIOS to default in case there's something changed in your BIOS for your graphics card (unlikely, but try it). Also, ensure you don't have any external programs like MSI Afterburner or some other overclocking utilities that are messing with your clocks and voltages. Ensure you don't have dust/crap in your video card, and try the test. Maybe what happened was it raised temperature so quick that you visibly saw 44C right before it crashed even though it was much higher. What happens is Furmark acts like a "video game" or some other visual graphics to put a load on your GPU (hence, "stress testing" This is why your GPU's temps rise when using Furmark because it's acting under stress.Īnyways, what settings on Furmark did you use? I would just use the default settings. It usually climbs steadily, maybe a degree or two every second or two. I'm not sure what you mean by quickly rose to 44 degrees. Unless the heat tolerance for the 7000 ATI's went down the drain, something seems wrong.

#8 I'm not familiar with 7800 series ATI but that doesn't seem that high at all. I could put up with the flickering before as it did seem to also occur less after i had played 4-5 games, but today and yesterday i have had major flickering that has resulted in the whole pc completely crashing twice, giving me what i believe is referred to as grey screen of death (gsod, grey screen black lines going down)Īny advice would be GREATLY appreciated, many thanks I have updated the catalyst drivers which didn't make a difference, but I can't think of what else to try, and worry that the card is eventually going to just die. I cant be sure that the problem is with only starcraft or games in general, as starcraft is basically the most graphical demanding game on the computer, but i do know that i have had no issues playing games that stress the card less. This problem only occurs when I have starcraft 2 on, even when it is minimized the screen will flicker. I've had the card for around 5 months or something now, and when I first had it there were really no issues, sometimes when I was streaming I would notice the screen flickering a little occasionally but I didnt notice anything else.Īs of late, the flickering has got progressively worse, going from what was once just the picture on the screen flickering and moving up and down occasionally, to now flickering white or grey, sometimes to the point where i cant see anything on the screen. #1 Hey guys, I am using a AMD Radeon 7800 Series graphics card, which I imagine is causing my problems and wonder if anyone could help.
