The default BE filters (especially scripts.txt) are very restrictive and will need to be adjusted if you have done any scripting (for example DZGM or ESSV3).
There is a new version-based key file (typically in \arma2oa\keys) named DayZ_1.8.9.bikey.
There are new Hive (DB) DLLs AND they require MSVC 2015.
DayZMod 1.8.9 changed a number of files not usually changed.
QUICK NOTES FOR DayZ Mod 1.8.9 (released on June 26, 2017)
The key file is now named DayZ_1.9.0.bikey.
One SQL upgrade script (1.9_Updates.sql) was released, so run that if you have an existing server.
Full SQL scripts were not released for 1.9.0, so just use the 1.8.9 SQL files.
A pure vanilla server will not need to update init.sqf anymore.
config_dist.sqf is shipped with the release, so edit and rename to config.sqf.
init.sqf now includes config.sqf (where all variables are set).
init.sqf was split into 2 files (init.sqf and config.sqf).
QUICK NOTES FOR DayZ Mod 1.9.0 (released on December 12, 2017) Once that starts and runs correctly, make a copy of it and then start adding scripts.
Plan on creating a vanilla server first.
Don’t assume any steps have been done, prerequisites have been installed, files have been copied, etc.
Start with a clean system and do all installs from scratch if possible.
